Planted shoal · Everyday care
The harlequin stream
Copper-coloured rasboras moving through a softly lit planted tank.
Build the scene
Use tall plants at the back and broad leaves at each end, with an uninterrupted swimming corridor through the middle. A little floating cover can soften the light without blocking the whole surface. Choose moderate, distributed flow.
The starting plan
80 × 35 × 40 cm · 112 L gross
Target 25 °C · pH 6.8 · heavy planting
- 12 × Harlequin rasboraTrigonostigma heteromorpha
Transfers dimensions, water targets and these exact fish quantities. Choose your actual filter, plants and decor in the tools. Cycling and water tests start as unknown.
Before you buy
- Keep the shoal together instead of splitting the space between many small groups of different fish.
- Trim floating plants regularly so light and gas exchange remain adequate.
- A stable, cycled tank and suitable source water come before decorative finishing touches.
Stable, suitable water matters more than chasing an exact pH. Check the species library for ranges and local restrictions. Use the tracker to record cycle progress.
